Mailer faces off against Skyler, a scene from a story that a friend of mine is writing, and I must say that Mailer doesn't come out on top, not in the slightest.

What jumps out at me the most in this picture is the wonderful contrast in it. The two characters are so far apart from one another in so many ways, in physical build, stature, attire, coloration, and expression that it really amplifies the conflict they are both engaged in. I love it.
I really like how you did Skyler. He manages to look young, but mature, and full of determination like I'd hoped. He almost looks casual in the way he's decking Mailer, which might be too far, but this does capture the overall scene rather fittingly.
The BG/shading was quick and rough, but still manages to be quite effective, it focuses the piece and brings more action into it. I do have one criticism, and that goes to the posing - the two characters came out looking a bit stiff. Skyler is neither leaning forward into the blow, nor away to pull the gun from his grip. Mailer appears the same, holding his hand straight down at his side, as if unable to react to this assault.
That said, the spontaneous outfit design was highly effective and the coloring is splendid all around. It's great being able to see a Cochran finally, and doing something so awesome at that. XD This came out even better than I'd hoped, I wasn't even expecting a color, and for a flat one this has a very fun amount of detail to look at, with all the pouches and belt loops. Many many thanks for this, I'll get to work finishing this story!
