i used to have a rat, my dad was at a friends house who was going to put the rat in the toilet because his snakes didnt want to eat it
so my dad saved it

you might want to get him 'snipped' later when he's older, males can sometimes get a little smelly. From my experience rats are just such adorable pets! The more you handle them the more loving they can be. Males tend to be more mild and laid back then females. This site might be useful, it's a nice website on the care of rats:

You can tell what kinda rat it is? if so info would be great since i am a new to having pet rats and the more i know the better.

All the rats are the same 'breed' but they come in a rainbow of colors. If you are new to rats then I HIGHLY recommend this book;

It is pretty much the rat bible and will help you tremendously. Foodwise the Kaytee stuff is horrid. My housemate orders this for her girls:
Harlan Teklad Rodent Block 2016 from that website. Its the same stuff the labs use and ensures the rats get everything they need.

Also rats are best kept in pairs. You may want to consider getting a male friend for him but you'll need to read up on how to introduce them to each other and also make sure their cage is large enough.

i defenitly plan on that, but the only 2 that where left was brother sister so i took the male. I dont plan on breeding them and thought betteer of snaging them both especilly since this is my first time owning a rat

Very good move on your part. And by getting the male you will avoid the expensive mammary tumor removals later on.

turns out the last 2 where brothers so i got the other for the companionship and they are more active and kinda squeeky when play fighting.

Yeah, you pretty much can't stop them from breeding unless they're sterile.
