I dunno, it's some light banding, it provides some protection while not weighing her down or restricting her movement. I don't think that being a walking tank really was the objective here.

Based on the Roman Segmentata with some own ideas, I'd call it waaaay better armor then you see in most animes where a chainmail bra and string are 'armor'...

Think (s)he's making a joke. What you're saying is true in real life. But in books, cartoons and movies, there seems to be a trope that the massively armoured, heavy-duty tank character dies in the first ten minutes, but the sexy chick wearing a string bikini made of tin foil? Not a damn scratch the whole movie, regardless of how much protection such armour would actually afford. Thus, according to movie and book universal laws as opposed to real life laws, the amount of protection you receive is actually inversely proportional to how much armour you have on

Very nice design! The right leg looks a bit off, at least with the skirt, but you did a great job with the segemented armor on her legs!

Something tells me I wouldn't want to piss of her auxilia unit.
