"Just a little further up, love. The view is almost as breathtaking as you."
Smiling softly down at her as he guides her up along the tree, knowing she's not a climber type. They were just over half way to the observation platform that he discovered many years ago and has kept fixed up since. Here above the forest canopy, they would be treated to the majesty of the heavens and of each other. Light peeks up through the leaves, illuminating the canopy boughs with a soft and warm glow that when combined with the evening sky can't help but imbue one with a sense of magical wonder. The din of the continuing celebrations for the spring Equinox become more muffled the higher they climb, soon to be nothing but a soft backdrop for the privacy that they will have up here.
The squirrel's left ear flicks once and then again as he hooks his right arm around the next branch, foot of the same side braced securely against the trunk. That broad tail of his sways slightly behind him, falling a bit as it shifts to the right, keeping his balance. The left pivots on the ball of his foot to push his knee out slightly, making an effective rail as the hedgehog presses firmly in against him when one foot is misplaced and slips off the branch they're currently on, her grip on his arm tightening, clutching around his waist with the other in a purely natural and instinctive reaction to the possibility of falling. His sense and reactions are swift, yet gentle, and really she barely moves at all. The shift of her weight does have her leaning quite firmly against him though, his breath catching for a moment before he can reassure her.
"I gotcha', love."
A squeeze back to her own arm that is linked with his, his azure eyes catching her gaze as she started to look down. Those blue eyes seemed to glow as they caught the light just so and slowly she relaxes, pressing more in against him. Yes, he did have her, safe and secure and she could tell that he would never let her fall. A faint blush spreads as she becomes more aware of him, of the warmth of his body in addition to the warmth of his heart. She doesn't pull away, smiling happily as she looks back to him, wanting to get to that platform even more now and not just for the view.

[...sie pauses and starez at himz in wonder az hir eyez fall upon every taught muscle sie clingz to....hir heart racing at that little slip calmz az sie now knowz that these armz will not let hir go so easily leaving that smile secured after a few momentz of once panic'd pantingz.....a few monentz pass unknowingly az the light whisp of the lightly firefliez circle, caressing that light breeze with their faint tonez createz by their chase of eachother at even this heighth.....sie loox down again down the trunk of the tree and surrounding area; and even beyond the canopy of the lower lying treez, when sie realises that so much waz indeed instore for hir.....and shi wanted that.......what ever it waz sie pressed to shook hir indeed, making hir grip on himz ease in a comfort sie haz not had much a chance to feel; soon regaining hir footing and balancing with himz in that alomst loving embrece.....hir eyez return to himz own to lock onto a shared stare of knowing that the rise ensuing iz only followed by that desire grip even tighter, staying az close az possible till what iz to be reached at the top will surely delight and also change so much.......so sie nodz to hims and whisperz almost az liltingly az the gentle breeze, teasing hir whiskerz through himz own, leaving hir lips a mere shudder away from taking himz, "......more, love.......please....i am not letting go either az i know you have me till it rises......."......................................the forrest goes quiet....]
