Sketch sample 7: Don't cry my good boy
One day Mark is drawing his father using a photo as reference in his room. He suddenly cried out loud. Bush sprinted into his room, seeing Mark crying his eye out. Bush glanced around and see what made his nephew sad. He saw the piece of drawing paper in Mark's hand and quickly learned what is actually going on. He gently embraced Mark with his arms and lifted him, pet and stroked Mark's back. Bush knows all, Mark is just missing his father, Brock. He calmed Mark down until he fell asleep, without saying a word.
Bush is another gentle giant beside Bill isn't he?

Mark´s expression is so, so sad to see it that it almost pierce the heart, but then it get healed by watching Bush there, cheering him up. Seriously, this pic deserved to be colored, really. If you don´t, I want to do it ^ ^

怪不得上次你说Bush在午睡时太累忘了脱衣服，原来那么应该只剩Bill会衣衫端正的睡觉吧，Ronald的怪癖：穿衣睡睡不着（他太爱炫了，不止上健身房睡觉时也穿同一样装备XD）。
我设计了Ronald的背景，和你分享一下：
名：Ronald
年龄：35岁
品种：黑犀牛（菱形的上唇）
性格：好动，乐天派，爱讲笑话，爱炫耀身材，有义气，孝顺，直率，他讨厌拖泥带水，假惺惺和说谎的人，但时常粗心大意，好心做坏事。
爱好：看健身杂志，超级英雄漫画，打篮球，游泳，和Bush长聊
家庭背景：Ronald的家很富裕，家族买卖昂贵葡萄酒，拥有数个庞大的地下酒窖，为城镇里的餐厅和酒店提供上等葡萄酒，当然Ronald本身也爱藏酒，他有自己的专属酒窖，喜欢请朋友品酒，但他自己却不喝。Ronald的爸妈全职管理葡萄种植和酿酒，都有点高傲的性格，但Ronald完全和她父母相反，他没有架子，没有机芯和穷孩子也能玩在一起。他自小很羡慕漫画中超级英雄的健壮体格，大学毕业后就开始练健美，数年后多次夺标，是健美界的佼佼者。Ronald父母希望Ronald毕业后能继承酒窖生意，但Ronald没有兴趣做生意，连上大学都只是顺从父母的意愿而已，他很希望父母能成全他做一个全职健美选手，几番哀求后，他的双亲终于妥协，而Ronald也踏上了他的健美人生。

Oh God...this really is so very heart-wrenching. And what a beautiful, well-done piece--it's hard to make people look truly sad and suffering without it seeming overdone or melodramatic, but this picture really hits all the right notes. Poor little guy...but at least he has Bush to give him those hugs he needs.
It's so interesting how there's a very simple key to this piece that if missing would defuse most of the emotional impact of the image, not all of course - the little child's drawing. We are culturally and even genetically programmed to empathize with the feelings of children, to protect them from harm - and when they are hurt by feelings that we remember from our own childhood, we immediately recall our own hurt, sorrow and regret.
This is maybe a very real-ish example - a young boy being shielded from the hard truth of his dad actually being dead. It's a bit fairy tale in that we're not accustomed to hearing of loving relatives stepping in to lovingly take care of orphaned nephews or nieces.
Boys do fear the worst, and feel separation severely - so this fella's suffering isn't going to be over once he learns the truth.
But the thing that makes us T.T just as bad as the little lad is that cute little scribble that took Echin probably 10 seconds to sketch. Is this artistic talent? Effing A right it is. In spades.

I alwys have appreciated much more the ability of an artist to touch on and evoke emotions - pathos, empathy, joy, humor, on and on. To create a predictable, visceral effect with simplicity is definitely a sign of a master. And I have to apologize for belittling the full effort the entire piece required for the effect.
Yes, take away the drawing and quite a bit of pathos is gone, but still you need the tear-drenched face of the little boy, this is NOT just a 15 second sketch, but that takes careful expression of human feeling transposed onto a non-human face, plus you used an anime iconic "rivers of tears" cliché yet still didn't cheapen or make the image more "toony" for having done so - THIS IS HARD.
And there definitely is a sense of comfort in the big, strong arms of the uncle, which is where the waterworks begin for me, He has someone to comfort him. Someone is there to care and support him. He's a lucky calf. You can't just put a buff doll in this position and get this poignant reaction either - again, you have to show him holding the little guy just so, their two heads positioned just right, their expressions so recognizable and correct to the situation, so that no words need be spoken in this image. We already know: "It's gonna be all right."

I like creating touching stories and present them in drawings, but myself like to watch funny movies rather than touching movies, weird eh? erm this was not as hard as you thought, and it wasn't easy either. So it is okay. All my practice paid off after I get so many positive feedbacks on my works thank you very much. :D
It's awesome to me I can be tolerated for, and even thanked for, my gushing over someone's talent. In your case, you frequently manage a superhero physique that is both uncannily massive and lustfully desirable - you make the jump across the uncanny valley propelled by my wish for this kind of physique, this kind of being, with their animal body and huge rippling muscles, all shiny and puffed up, almost about to pop out of their own skin they're so low in fat, so deeply chiseled and cut, so freakin' sexy you want so very hard YES please be true!
I externalized the experience, but you get what I mean. Nearly everything you do -> +fav for me. So all it takes is any project, any commission, most any subject and you do me more fan service. It's been nice to share some of my enthusiasm with you, as I am thankful for having privilege of seeing so much of your art, and of course my own opportunity.

His father passed away due to deterioration of a simple disease, because his (Mark's dad's) wife wanted to divorce since she met another wealthier bull oversea, she ran away from Brock (his dad's name). Brock was heart broken, he fell sick after the incident and the condition wrosen few months later. During that time Mark is very young and didn't know the truth that his dad was gone. Bush decided to take over his brother's responsibility, looking after Mark. However, when Mark started to grow up, he wondered why Brock is not around. Bush just told him Brock is rather busy with work oversea and wouldn't come back for a very long time. Somehow Bush does not know if he is doing the right thing, at the moment he just want Mark to be raised as a normal child, and Bush has vowed to take care of this kid until he dies.
