Who could resist a nap on this wolf's belly? Especially if you've been chasing the Road Runner all day long.

This is a long story, so bear with me. In 1987 I worked for a company that made Floats for the Rose Parade in Pasadena. Now the rules for display upon these motorized contraptions is that every visible inch has to be covered in floral materials, including fibers from flowering plants. A builder I was working with told me that a couple years previous, the theme for one float was "Looney Tunes" and an image of Wile-E Coyote was featured in the display. The cartoon coyote was made mainly of coconut fiber and pampas grass to give him the proper "Furry" look. When it came time to dismantle the float, one of the builders wanted to cut Wile-E Coyote free from the metal frame and keep it as a souvenir. The fellow used a cutting torch to do the job, and accidentally set the poor cartoon coyote ablaze. (The "Oasis Glue" floral cement is also very flammable.) They were able to save the sculpture, but the poor coyote's "Fur" was blackened and frizzy. Of course the builders in the shop liked the cartoon coyote better after the accident though. "He looked more Natural that way." The builder telling me the story explained.
