It's crappy, I know. But you gotta start somewhere. I'm going to step backward now and do some stick figures and basic motion animations, like swinging ropes, falling objects, bouncing balls, etc..

Actually, good question. The animation didn't take long at all. Roughly 45 minutes. However, the scanning was excruciating. That's why the frame count was so small.
I can't wait until I can buy a tablet PC. I already have a program called ToonBoom Studios which is perfect for animation with a tablet PC. It underlays the previous frame in gray, making it very easy. I have a Wacom tablet, but it always feels awkward to use. Most likely because it needs to be stationary, and when I draw, I draw with the paper at odd angles. So needing to draw certain kinds of lines and curves just can't be done with it.
