Of course, she's not gonna go too far on a 6 volt kid's toy motorcycle. This was a little joke picture I drew up as a pen doodle last year sometime and decided to throw a quick splash of color on it for shits and giggles.
I also couldn't resist the urge to add insult to injury by placing her in front of a photo (thanks Google Image Search!) of said toy motorcycle. I picked the Indian model because I honestly, truly believe, to the very core of my soul, that Harley Davidsons are overpriced, underpowered parts bin specials still utilizing 1940's tractor engine technology.
Then again, what do I know? I ride dependable Japanese motorcycles...
And just in case you don't get the joke about the hourglass pattern on her jacket? Google "black widow spider" and read what the female does to her mate. Didn't they teach you this stuff in school?

I think the current ones are just place-holders until Polaris/Victory can fully engineer a uniquely new model. Even so, they still seem to be stuck in the same rut as Harley: using old technology in an outdated form. The new 105ci (1720cc) engine puts out about 65 hp. That's...sad. My 27 year old 696cc Honda puts out 80 hp. And, like the Indian, it too is air-cooled.
I just feel that, for whatever reason, the American bike companies would rather wallow in their past glory than to man up and tackle the future. It's easier to keep churning out copies of 60-year-old designs than it is to try to improve on them and use the knowledge gained from track testing to tweak the bike so it handles and performs as best as possible.
I've ridden a few Harleys in my life. They are the most unbalanced, top-heavy pieces of metal crap I've ever sat on. The performance is lackluster, the braking and handling is piss-poor, and the only thing they seem to have going for them (aside from the massive marketing of toys, trinkets and clothing) is their niche styling. But even that is becoming quite stale.
Victory seems to be a good company. I really, really hope they improve the Indian brand, rather than rely on past tactics of using Harley clone motors and still producing bikes that look straight out of the 1950's. Hell, even India-produced Enfield has improved their motors on their recent bikes while still sticking with older styling cues. Maybe Polaris/Victory will do the same. I certainly hope so.
But hey, what do you think of that Motus company? Now that is some innovative thinking!

I think that's a problem that exists in all American motor companies. I mean look at Ford and GM - they keep building the same old oversized, unsafe, unaffordable, inefficient vehicles that they did back in the 70s. No matter how many times they go bankrupt or otherwise get themselves into trouble, it's the same old shit all over again.
Motus could certainly put those Japanese and German bikes to shame, but until I actually see them hitting the road, I'm not gonna get excited. I've seen too many great ideas stay on the drawing board.
On another note - have you seen the Morgan Three-Wheeler roadster that uses Harley's engine? It's a cute and fun little thing, but seeing as it costs more than a Miata and has much less speed and safety I don't know where their market is.

I like the black widow spider marking on her jacket. It is just soo appropriate for Penance.
Female black widow spiders, or red back spiders as we call a related species of spider here in Australia, kill and sometimes eat the male after mating. Considering what Penance does to her prey, I say the male spiders get off rather easy!

I suppose if she was motivated enough, she could use her powers to do a credible impersonation of Ghost Rider.
Though considering how limited you said her powers are in that form, I don't know if a 3 foot tall flaming bear skeleton wearing leather motorcycle clothes and turning her 6 volt kid's toy motorcycle into a flaming 6 volt kid's toy motorcycle would be veiwed as terrifying.
It's an interesting picture when you consider her story and I get some laughs from it.

Indian has traded owners numerous times and has mostly been a Harley clone with old style fenders. A new company is trying to change that, however. Harley, on the other hand, is still churning out the same old parts-bin specials they've been making since AMF owned them.
I mean, really...1584cc's and only 67 hp? That's despicable.

Wow!!!!
I love her outfit and the boots are to die for! I'll have my friend make me up the outfit in my size (I guess they'll have to kill a few cows for enough leather to fit me) Now all I have to do is dredge up my old 1968 BMW and I can go riding again.
Gret pic I love the come and get me backward glance
