Don't know if I have the planning skills, but my big fear is that I'd show up, there'd be all these amazing people being magical and beautiful and miraculous and getting laid and by comparison I'd just be me, and would wander right off into some really bad depression. I dunno, I've been getting better about this stuff lately.
Also, there are resources everywhere! Not just for survival but for navigating the social aspect. The people there are snarky as hell, but they're generally positive and helpful :)
I really like working cons more than just attending them - it really fits into where I have emotional issues and could go wandering off into depression in mid-festival. Plus a friend of mine who I almost never get to see has been part of the medics on site for years if I understand how that works.
