CYOA: Fifth Stratum: Temple Run
The rough draft for the final stratum.
Thought I'd get this done while waiting on that final choice for the other draft, this is the temple.
Anyway, as you can see, different forms and different combination of forms determine which path you'd want to take.
Oh those event squares in the Endless Hall, not your friend. Just saying, I'd be cautious if you take that route.
Some explanation, the small route already obvious what route you need. Anyone can take the route going down the stairs, however for those of you who want to go up the stairs, well if you're to small that might not be possible.
The crystal lock can only be used by species with magical abilities. The rusted door, well only one with great strength would be able to force that thing open.
The Frozen Wall would hinder anyone without the power of fire trying to pass through.
The Eternal Abyss well, there is no walkway, one would have to fly to get through there.
The Innocent Heart Lock, I imagine it's a special lock that can only be opened by the pure heart of a child.
As for the locked doors? Maybe a certain fox can help you find the way through.
Special rules on the path here.
One, even if you do something like force a door open with brute strength and smash it, the door will be back for the next player who ventures there. There shall be no piggy backing in this adventure.
Two, bad things happen to you if you're on a path and lose the ability to continue on. This is the stratum where those spells are really useful. Someone starts down the strength path, zap them into a small weak animal and sit back and watch what unfolds. Someone has wings, take away those wings while they're flying over the abyss.
Remember, points mean nothing in this stratum. You are guarantee to hit a shop your first turn, so might as well spend all your points on items then. All the shops have the same inventory. There are no bonus squares. This stratum is an all out race. And the prize for the winner?
Well, you'll just have to wait and see.

I was thinking this:

Do the shops have different price lists? It would be interesting if earlier shops had cheaper items than the later shops, as an advantage for the players who get lousy rolls at the start and have to keep muddling through shops as the lucky players are entering the board proper and grabbing free order cards.
Maybe if it was a square that automatically stopped you no matter what you rolled, like a stun trap.
Then everyone starts the next round on the same square, everyone gets access to the same items at the same prices. Everything is fair.
But, let's wait until the game is finished before you/we/I start thinking about version 2.
