I have the same problem, everything I draw is just cute XDD but I think, if you want made his face a bit serious or more scary, just try to made his eye smaller. :D
anyway, I just love his face <33

Aww he looks cute :) In an ogry sort of way. I like the concept and the colour.
He does look less scary than your normal characters with the intense eyebrows though :)
