Female Dracten Werewolf
Argh! Old! Okay, so about a year and a half ago, I was asked if I could make a few character models for a Half Life 2 mod called Dracten. This was my fourth and final model before suffering the kind of mental breakdown you can only get from staring at thousands of vertices for weeks at a time. At any rate, I quit the project, and I can only assume that this will never be used, since it's horrifically plain compared to every other submission ... So I guess no one will mind if I post this. Modelled and rendered in Blender.

Heh! That was my impression, too. Hasn't really made any progress in the last year; still a random collection of stuff.
But then again, I didn't know what I was doing, either. In fact ... yeah, the whole project was slipshod, come to think of it. For some reason they didn't give me any reference sheets to work off of ... I had to make my own, basing the style on what I thought the mod MIGHT look like.

This may be a poor context to mention it in but I'm currently designing what I believe to be a somewhat more seriously conceived mod for Unreal Engine 3.0. The mechanics of the game actually take precedence over the universe, and while there are anthropomorphic characters in it they are not its focus and are intended to fit in semi-feasibly. I still lack a skilled character modeller. It would be several months down the road before content production would begin but would this be something you'd be interested in?
OH, that would help the situation wouldn't it?
Ok, so a "Morph" is basically a feature that you apply to a model (whether it be a character or object) that gives it a different appearance. Major example are "mouth morphs" which make mouths take distinctive shapes to appear as if they are talking. They can also be used for things such as muscularity, breast size, bends in the arm, etc. etc.
So, now knowing what morphs are, your answer would be...?

AH! Well, I know it's POSSIBLE, but I've never tried it myself. I'm not sure if Blender has some kind of built-in function for setting them up, or if you need to use python scripting ... there's a python script called MakeHuman that does that kinda stuff. Basically generates a human model and provides several hundred sliders for every aspect of the expression and anatomy. I'd use it for reference, but you have to rig it yourself, and I'm lazy.
i know i'm late, but i was contributing to this Dracten mod for Half-Life 2, even before HL2 got released, i made the mod logo back then, and eventually it got scrapped and replaced by another one...oh well, i can't even get in touch with the project creator anymore, anyway.
Oh wow, you were on it too? Yeah, I did the models way before HL2 even came out. I never talked to the other artists, never got a forum membership ... the only person I ever had contact with was Talnova himself ... incidentally, he's still on my list of MSN contacts. I haven't tried talking to him since I quit the project.
I had no idea you were a part of this project as well. I was one of the writer's at one point, but a lot of good that did me. Tal brought me on and then told me that nothing that I wrote matched his vision. Wound up parting ways with him a few years later. It's a real shame, too. Dracten really did hold a lot of premise. And these days, with wider audiences being more open to the idea of anthropomorphic cinema thanks to Zootopia, it would shine as an indie game. Ah well...
I hadn't considered that, actually. I was more thinkin' along the lines of the old PnC adventure games of the 90s that were all traditionally animated. Like Sam & Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, etc. Although... considering that Telltale has a unique talent for blending those elements in with other modern day staples, that could prove possible as well! Somethin' 2.5D perhaps? Like Dust: An Elysian Tail, or Hard Corps: Uprising!
