Tharraingt Anuas an Ghealach -Celtic Wolfsjal-
This is a late birthday present for Wolfsjal! Since she liked the Celtic version of her werewolf, Domnhal, http://nashoba-hostina.deviantart.c.....lchu-211921201 I decided to make a similar version of her personal wolf-self! I borrowed the 'Moon' from the previous piece to sort of tie them together, since, stylistically, this one is much less 'authentic' than the other, (fur was usually curls, or odd, almost scalelike structures, not zigzags like in rhis piece or in this one: http://nashoba-hostina.deviantart.c.....ladh-286088148 ) but I like the differences.
I've gone on at length about Irish werewolves and such before, both In the aforementioned Faoladh piece, as well as in Little Werewolf Jack-O-Lantern http://nashoba-hostina.deviantart.c.....tern-265671013 . So, if you'd like to learn more about werewolves and such, please check out those or hit your local library. Speaking of which, if you're interested in Celtic design, here are a few that I have referenced: The books of Durrow, Dimma and, of course, Kells... 159 Celtic Designs by Amy L. Lusebrink, Celtic Beasts by Courtney Davis, Celtic Design: Animal Patterns by Adrian Meehan, and Treasury of Viking Design by Courtney Davis.
Oh man, now, back to working on the cover to Eldritch! Catch ya all later!
Also, as should be obvious, the character is (C) Wolfsjal the art (C) me.
