Yep, its over. Just over a month and a half ago I quit my job of seven years as night guy for the local Shell station.
As of now I'm working with Innomark Communications cleaning screens at a local printing factory of theirs and will be doing my damndest to keep the hell out of any other retail job.
So yeah, at least for the forseeable future, Customer Disservice is done with.

Eh, it kinda came down to one of those "You can quit now, but the way things are going you'll probably wind up fired if you don't" scenarios.
I'd gotten three complaints in one week, all straight to the Vice President of Triumph Energy, and was actually on unpaid suspension until my district manager and I could meet (thankfully the same day I found out about the suspension).
I went in, we talked, and he asked me if I could guarantee him that I could keep this from happening again and... well... I couldn't. I could not honestly say yes to his question.
I mean, it'd been seven years at that job. If the problem was still there by seven years then it wasn't going anywhere. So yeah, I quit, signed up with a branch of the Staffmark temp agency near here, and got a job with Innomark Communications cleaning printing screens for more money than I used to make at the gas station.

Well, not quite. They didn't hate me, hell I worked there for seven years when the average employee lasted just under a few months before they get fired/quit/never show up again.
They cut me a ton of breaks on that job despite my temper and I got along really well with my boss, the problem was that it was a customer service job and there's only so much idiocy I can put up with before someone's getting their head bitten off. Remember, this went to the vice president of the entire company, three complaints in a week, and my boss had stuck her neck out for me more than a few times.
I'm not cut out for retail because I don't deal well with customer service jobs, but at the same time that was the only thing I was doing wrong there. It was a case of too much of a dick to keep but too intelligent, punctual, hardworking, and useful to fire.
So yeah, I quit. I couldn't expect her to put herself on the line on my behalf anymore and, really, I doubt she'd have been able to much longer.
