This is a fan fiction i made based off of a character i use to rp with on- this is the story of that very character, Yang Arat.
The story goes as this:
You would think that in the world of pokemon, there would always be peace and tranquility for the most part, right? However, you would be wrong. In the darker parts of the pokemon world, you would find that there are people that would make team rocket seem like saints in comparison. There is abuse, cruelty, and so on that involves with dark things like this.
So, if you do not like that kind of stuff with pokemon, then you might want to turn away from this, as the later ones will be more mature in comparison. This is nothing to really call mature in my opinion. However, the later ones are likely to contain worse stuff. So if you think this is bad, then dead pokemon would actually be worse...
Anyways, i hope you enjoy this!

The Pokemon Savior
Prologue: Destiny Awaits
It was a dark and rainy night, the kind where water splashes slightly with each step. A young man between the ages of sixteen and eighteen was walking home in a heavy grey coat. Some of his brown hair was in front of his eyes, but it did not bother him enough to make him move it aside. He was about to pass an alley when he heard a weak mewing, his brown eyes slowly moving towards the alley, where the sound came from. It sounded like the creature- whatever it is, is in distress and calling for help. He shrugged when he did not hear anything else and was about to move again, that was when the sound came again, making him stop once more before he became curious and he walked down the alley to investigate.
As the mewing slowly became louder, he could tell that it certainly was in some kind of distress, which started to worry him as he was also hearing voices of other pokemon. Sure enough, his suspicions were correct when he found a steel fenced area with pokemon inside rusted cages. They looked cold, miserable, hungry, even terrified. He heard the mewing once more, able to pinpoint which pokemon made it. The sound came from a brown fox pokemon, an Eevee. The poor creature was completely neglected, having its ribs shown and not even able to do more than mew weakly at best. Lucky for the fox pokemon, the alleys tend to carry even small noises as an echo, and he heard it.
He was considering to leave and tell the authorities, but when his eyes were laid on to the Eevees, he froze in shock. It was begging him, pleading for him to save them. He wanted to leave, but his body would not let him. No matter how much he struggled, his heart and mind wanted to help out the pokemon and get whoever did such cruel things to the pokemon before him. After thinking for a moment, he gave in and decided to help them out, looking around quickly before he found a nice sized rock nearby. He rushed over to grab it and head over to the locked door, which was rusted and weakened from time and the elements. With a grunt, he raised the rock over his head before he slammed it down onto the lock, breaking it off and allowing him to go in the pen to free the pokemon. Using the stone he found earlier, he smashed through the rusted locks and freed the pokemon one by one, allowing them to run free and possibly go after the people responsible for capturing them in such cruel ways. However, the Eevee was too weak to move, which was shown by the condition it was in due to a closer look from the young man. Not only was it malnourished, but it also had a bad leg, which went in bad combination with its condition. Feeling sorry for it, he carefully picked it up and held it in his arms, walking out of the alley and over to a pokemon center nearby.
When he arrived, he walked over to Nurse Joy and he dropped off the Eevee without as much as a word- while making sure no one noticed. The last thing he wanted to do was start a misunderstanding- especially considering how his family only accepts pure and clean breeds of pokemon. When he finally made it back to the footsteps of his home, he opened the door and entered without any hesitation, closing the door behind him before he looked around carefully. He lives in a fancy mansion. Not many pokemon are allowed in the mansion- only those that pass the examination his parents does for every pokemon that comes into the door. Even if they are simply looking for some food, if they do not pass the examination, they are kicked out without any second thought.
“They’re not home... Good, they must be working still” He muttered to himself before he took off his hood, revealing well combed hair and brown eyes to match his brown hair. He went over to his room to get out of the coat and more suitable clothing for his parents taste. The only thing he could really wear would be fancy clothing worthy of noblemen, which made him frown at the thought of having to wear such clothing after all the years of being pulled around like a puppet by his parents. They were always controlling him, from the lessons he learned to manners to even whether or not he can have a pokemon- which they forbid him from getting until he finds a girl to settle down with to avoid the chances of him becoming a trainer. Once he got into some sleeping clothes, he sat down on the bed with a sigh, unable to help but worry about the Eevee he saved. For some reason, he could not get the innocent fox pokemon out of his head, something that he never felt for anything else in his life. No friends, family or even pokemon, as his family never allowed him to make friends, saying that they would get in the way of his studies and the future they have in store for him. They have been trying to find someone for him to settle with for quite some time, but he turned down every last one of them.
“I’ll go check on that poor pokemon in the morning. Worrying will do nothing to assist it” He said before he lays down on the bed and he closed his eyes, letting out a sigh before he allowed sleep to take over him.
The next morning, he quickly got up from bed and got in appropriate clothing for the morning, knowing that his parents will be back in a couple hours from now, so he had to work quickly to check on the Eevee and return home so his parents would not begin to suspect anything. He assured the butlers that he was going out for a walk in case his parents ask for him, telling them that he needed some fresh air after being exposed to the rain while heading back from his class.
With that done, he headed out of his home and to the pokemon center in town. He got stares from the people in town, raised eyebrows and looks of doubt on their faces, but he was used to such behavior. When he went inside the pokemon center, he found that it was busy with quite a few pokemon- pokemon that he saved last night. Curious of what happened last night, he walked over to Nurse joy who was tending to a Geodude. “Pardon me, but what has happened to these pokemon?” He asked, getting an over the shoulder look from her before she turned to him after having a Chansey take care of the rock pokemon.
“Oh… Hello, Yang Arat. These pokemon came out of nowhere last night. They were chasing after some strange people, some of which were pinned down and Officer Jenny took in for questioning” She said as she looked at him from head to toe. “Why did you come here? I thought your parents forbid you from having any pokemon. Are you engaged or something?” Yang rolled his eyes as he shook his head and he cleared his throat. “I am currently in the status of single, thus my parents continue to deny me a pokemon of my own” He said as he looked around. “However, something like this would be very hard to overlook, wouldn’t you say?” He asked, getting a nod in reply from Nurse Joy before she raised an eyebrow in slight suspicion. “That is true… however, we are quite busy right now and I would appreciate it if you do not get in the way, alright?” She asked. Yang nodded as he began to look around for the Eevee. He found the poor fella resting with an oxygen mask on, looking a lot better than when he first saw it. It was still pretty thin, but it seems to be recovering nicely. Nurse Joy took notice of Yang with the Eevee as she walked over to him and stopped beside him. “This poor Eevee had the worst condition out of all the pokemon we found… We found it right up on our desk in pretty bad shape” She said as she smiles. “It will take a day or two for it to be well enough, but it is in stable condition now” She said before she walked off to tend to the other pokemon.
The Eevee began to stir not long after Nurse Joy left, its eyes slowly opening to look at the person before it. Yang knelt down to be more even leveled with the fox pokemon to look into its eyes. He could tell it was frightened from the way its eyes were wavering and it began to tremble, letting out a bit of a whimper in the process. Yang began to feel empathy towards it, able to understand how it would be afraid in a situation like this. He reached out a hand to it and gently placed it on its cheek. “Shh… Its alright. You are safe now” He whispered in a soft and kind voice, his own eyes wavering in concern before the Eevee started to calm down and go back to sleep. He did not know why, but he felt that he is beginning to form some kind of bond with it, something his parents worked so hard to keep him from getting. The Eevee trusts his word, despite not knowing anything about him, which gave him a warm and relieved feeling in his heart.
Deciding to leave before he raises anymore suspicion, he turned and left to return home. Once back in the mansion, he froze after closing the door behind him to see that his parents were waiting for him. They were sitting down on the couch, sipping tea while patiently waiting for him. “We were wondering when you would get back…” Mr. Arat said while petting a Purugly that was laying down on the couch beside him. “The butlers told us that you were out on a walk for the rain last night… why did you not call for a cab?” He asked before he looked at his son.
Yang lets out a sigh, walking over to his parents before he took a seat in front of them to make himself comfortable, having a guess that they have a lecture ready for him about how he could have gotten a cold and everything. It turns out; he was right on that one. He heard the lecture many times, but it did not change the fact that they felt it was necessary to repeat themselves as if he never heard of it before, taking away over five minutes of his time before Ms. Arat realized something.
“Oh, that is right, we brought someone who might be a worthy bride for you. She is waiting for you in your room” She said, which only made Yang sigh as he reluctantly nodded and he got up onto his feet to head over to his room and meet the young lady that they brought home this time.
Once he went inside his room, he was met with a young lady about his age. Her clothing was that of another noblewoman, which made him shake his head, thinking that she was going to be another typical noblewoman that will be trying to charm him or beg him to be her bride. However, when his eyes were off of her, he flinched to find that she has a pokemon with her- something no other noblewoman ever had with them. It was nothing small and cute like he would expect either. She brought a Flygon with her, who looked pretty tired and was resting on his bed. He pointed at the bizzare dragon/ground pokemon before he asked her. “Did my parents… approve your Flygon?” He asked, getting a smile in response to that as he blinked in surprise. “Ok, you won a point in my favor already for getting a pokemon to win my parents test…” He admitted to her, finding that she might not be as bad as the rest. Then again, she looked familiar, which only seems to make him all the more curious about her. He then sat down beside her as he found himself having a pleasant conversation with her.
It turns out that she was a childhood friend of his, Rayanna, and she moved from her parents place and made her own mansion, so she could have pokemon of her own. “Heh, how were you able to get the money for your own mansion?” Yang asked while tilting his head to the side curiously. “He he, I merely saved up ever since I was very young. When I had enough for a mansion- and more, just in case, I left to branch out” She said with a chuckle. “Maybe you could come have a look at my mansion some time? There wont be anyone to pester you about not having pokemon to their satisfaction- but I play it safe, otherwise, I could not even bring my Lovely Flygon here” She said as she looked over her shoulder for a moment before at Yang, who sweat dropped. “No offence, but your Flygon looks exhausted… and even a little unhappy…” He said to her. Rayanna looked at her dragon pokemon, who shook her head in response nervously before she looked at Yang once more. “If she says she is alright, then I don’t think there is any reason to stick to that subject” She said before Yang nodded and he sighs. “Your parents tell me that you are looking for a bride…” She began as a blush began to form on her face. “Is this really true?”
Yang shook his head with a sigh from hearing that question in such a subtle manner. “I am not… that is just my parents saying that, as they say to every noble woman that steps foot in this place” With a sad nod, Rayanna returned her Flygon back into its poke ball and she left, thanking Mr. and Ms. Arat for giving her a chance to see Yang again, not saying another word after hearing his response.
Yang in the meanwhile could not help but think that the conversation ended too soon, as he had a lot of questions to ask her, a faint blush on his cheeks in the meanwhile as he thought of the way she asked that question, almost as if she wanted to marry him out of her own free will- as in, she really cares about him. Since she possesses pokemon of her own apparently, if he did marry her, he could freely have whatever pokemon he wanted. Still, what’s done is done, and he was left with the annoying studies that his parents placed down on him.
The next day came rather slowly for Yang, but when it did come, he wanted to visit the pokemon center to see how Eevee was doing; putting one the usual clothes that his parents had him wear to represent his family name. However, when he made his way to the pokemon center and he went inside, Officer Jenny was waiting inside as a guard before she noticed Yang and she walked up to him. “You there! Don’t move a muscle!” She said before stopping in front of him and she looked at him from head to toe. “What do you think you are doing here, Yang Arat?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. “Last time I recall, you do not have any pokemon at all!” She snaps, which made Yang step back out of worry. “Well, I may not have a pokemon, but I did find one that worries me…” He said, but she must not have buyed it, because she got out the cuffs and was getting closer to him. “Yeah right. Maybe you are in cahoots with the people that had to do with those poorly treated pokemon! Why else would a person who never had a pokemon with him- let alone never even came in here actually-” She began, but she was interrupted by the opening of a door from Nurse joy, the very Eevee that Yang visited yesterday came running out, full of energy and looking much healthier as it ran over to Yang and began to nuzzle his leg in appreciation, looking up at him as it wanted to be picked up. Yang blushes a bit before he got down to pick it up and hold it in his arms as the Eevee made itself comfortable.
Officer Jenny blinked in surprise before she dropped the cuffs, finding it unbelievable that the very man who was never allowed pokemon actually has one- at least, that is from what it looks like. She quickly snapped out of her state and picked up the cuffs before she crossed her arms and she raised an eyebrow in interest. “Well… if you never had a pokemon before, it looks like one found you!” She said before she chuckles. “Hopefully you are married, because otherwise your family will probably have a cow” She asked, Nurse Joy placing a hand on her shoulder to get her attention as she shook her head to answer for Yang.
“He is still single… which would mean that his family will probably force him to kick out the Eevee if it is not worthy of staying in their home…” She said, which made Jenny stop in embarrassment as she looked towards Yang and scratches the back of his head. “I-I’m sorry Yang…” She said, Yang merely smiles and chuckles in response. “It is ok… I just hope they accept him into the family” He said before he looked down at the little fella. “If it is alright for me to have him that is…” He said, his smile brightening up when Nurse Joy nodded in approval. He then headed on out to show Eevee to his family, unable to help but think that he would not want to leave it behind after worrying about it all this time.
When he made it back and he enters, he found that his parents were currently watching the news on what the weather is going to be like in the afternoon before they heard the mewing of Eevee. They quickly got up on their feet and looked at the little fox pokemon in the arms of their son before his father twitched an eyebrow and he growled a bit before he clears his throat and he calmed himself down. “Young man… I thought we told you that you cannot have any pokemon until you are married and settled down” He said to him. Yang nodded before he walks over to them. “I know that, and I am not asking to keep him…” Yang said, catching the attention of his parents as he gave out his proposition. “I… I will settle down with a noblewoman… I will do exactly what you want me to do, but I beg of you to let this Eevee stay with us” He said as Eevee looked up at the two with big cute eyes.
Mr. and Ms. Arat were taken aback by his offer, never seeing their son so willing to get married and settle down before. However, they had to do the family tradition of inspecting the fox pokemon, see if it is of the breed that would make it worth keeping. “Very well… the least we can do is check to see if it is worth keeping. Until then, I ask that you wait in your room for the results” Ms. Arat said as she walked up to the Eevee and she took it from Yangs arm to begin looking at it. Yang nodded before he headed on up to his room to await the answer.
After what appeared to be an eternity of waiting, worried about the fate of the poor fox pokemon before the door opened and his father entered, looking a bit upset as Yang stood up on his feet from sitting on the bed. “What fate does Eevee get?” He asked worryingly.
Mr. Arat shook his head while Purugly came up besides its master with a growl. “What sick joke is this, young man? You ask to be married in exchange for keeping the pokemon you brought home- who is nothing more than a common bred mongrel!” He snapped at him. “I threw that garbage out of the house the moment we found out in disgust!” He said, which made Yang freeze for a moment before he ran up to his father and he grabbed him by the collar of the shirt and he forced him down to even level as he looked straight at him in the eyes. “You did what?!” He asked rhetorically before he quickly rushed out of his room and outside where Eevee was walking away with its tail in between its legs and its ears drooping to the sides of its head, being at the edge of crying as well.
Yang soon caught up to the Eevee and he scooped it up in his arms, holding it closely to him while laughing in relief as a couple tears began to fall. “Oh Eevee- I’m sorry for what my parents did to you…” He said, the fox pokemon mewing as tears began to fall and it buried its face on his shirt. He then got up on his feet as he walked on back to the house, stopping for a moment to find his parents in front of the entrance, looking very displeased with the choice he made. ”Yang Arat… Release that filthy rat this instant!” Mr. Arat said with a glare. “We already said no, and that decision will remain unchanged!”
Yang growled at them when they insist that he cannot have the pokemon, finding that he could not take their controlling behavior anymore. He looked down at the ground with his own glare as he gritted his teeth and finally spoke up to them. “No…” He said sternly. This made the two froze in shock from his response before they glared at him once more. “You heard me, no! I have had enough of you two controlling my life- giving me little freedom to do what I want!” Yang yells at them. “I am keeping this Eevee… he is my first friend. And I will not give him up just because you selfish aristocrats tell me to!” He continues, which by then his father had enough of.
“How dare you talk to us that that, young man! If you truly believe that, then perhaps you would be better off living in the garbage with your so called friend!” He said, which made Ms. Arat gasp in shock from saying such a thing. “I know tradition states that if we kick you out that you get to bring any of your stuff with you- but make it quick before change my mind” He said, walking on inside as Ms. Arat looked at Yang for a moment before she walked inside as well, leaving Yang alone with the freedom that was practically given.
Yang just stood there, shocked of how easy it was that he was now free, a smile slowly coming onto his face before he chuckles and he looks down at his first friend and pokemon companion, eevee. “Well then. What say we get packed up before we depart?” He asked, getting an eager nod in response before they headed on inside to pack. Once to his room, he opened his closet and literally tore his clothing right off, finding that he never liked such clothing though out his life. In its place, he got out some clothing he bought from the store from the money he earned- a dark brown sleeveless shirt, along with dark brown long pants and scarf to match with his hair. He messed up his hair a bit, letting it stand up a bit more before he looked at himself in the mirror while putting on a belt to put his six main poke balls on, and side bags that goes on his waist so he could get out his items and money easily and quickly, instead of having to put down a backpack every time. He also grabbed some items that he gathered over the years- slowly, in order to avoid the risk of being found out before he got what was left of the money he has stored, which is actually way more than any starting trainer would ever have, going on down the stairs afterwards as he Headed on out the door with his parents shocked from seeing him wear such plain and even dirty looking clothes to them as Eevee was on his shoulder and he began his departure- after welcoming Eevee to the team with one of the poke balls he bought, releasing it back out and welcoming it back onto his shoulder before he left the city and he headed on down the road.
“Now… where should I go first…” He murmured to himself before he snaps his fingers. “I know! Rayannas home is actually not too far from here!” He said before he looked at Eevee. “How about we take a trip to her home? She is a lot nicer than my parents, and has pokemon of her own!” She said, getting a mew of joy as Yang broke into a run to get to his destination quicker, beginning the adventure of the pokemon savior.
The story goes as this:
You would think that in the world of pokemon, there would always be peace and tranquility for the most part, right? However, you would be wrong.
