Niamh and Liane had spent most of the day doing traditional tourist stuff. Sightseeing and browsing all the little shops in Solvang, California. Finally, as the sun began to set, they rested on a little planter and looked at each other's purchases. The little white seal figure that Niamh had bought was their favorite of the day. It was so pretty and soft....

Solvang, CA is a real place and worth checking out, physically or digitally. Danish culture transplanted to the western US. ;3

Now Tang I have seen just recently.....I dunno about Geritol, but I'd bet it's around....in fact....(I love google sometimes!)... http://www.drugstore.com/geritol-hi.....6?catid=183226
Oh my goodness, this is beautiful! I don't even know what to say, this is just such an amazing picture, and it was so sweet of you to get this done! You really find the most amazing artists, and you always have such incredible ideas for commissions! I love it!
Not to keep repeating myself, too much, but the mood here is just perfect, too. You can imagine the day they had, taking in the sights and enjoying each other's company, and it's clear what good friends they are just from how happy they look together. It's really very touching. And all the detail in the town, from the cobbles to the flowers and everything! I've never so much as set foot in California, but it has such a comfortable, welcoming feel to it that I can just imagine what a great place it would be to spend the day. Thank you so much!

You are welcome. Give kudos to
rabbitfangs for the patience and the interest of commissioning this from a melancholic "old school" anthro-artist.

This is the first one I ever tried getting of Niamh and Liane together, and Mitch did a wonderful job on it. As you noticed, he really caught the mood and setting beautifully! And as Foxene pointed out also, the way he executed it, it has an almost 3d look to it.
I'm so glad you like it so much! I commissioned it as a kind of friendship present for you a little over a year ago. It took a while, but I think it was worth the wait! <3

When I told Mitch what I wanted, he said that the picture needed to be bigger and more detailed than what I had suggested. So he upgraded it size wise for free, and then ....well I guess he went a little crazy. Cause, yeah, the more you look at it, the more you realize that this isn't just your average fully shaded picture, but a heavily detailed painting. I don't know what all media he used but it's pretty amazing.
(I never expected to see Liane in a knee length skirt though.... )
