Puca (there are many other spellings for their name depending on where you come from) is based off of the actual mythological horse known as Puca.
Puca's are a pitch black being with glowing red eyes. Takes the shape of a horse, dog, or giant bird in Irish mythology. There are two tales residing around the Puca. One says that "old people used to say that the Pookas (different variation of spelling) were very numerous...long ago..., were wicked-minded, black-looking, bad things...that would come in the form of wild colts, with chains hanging about them." The other tale states, "the Phoukas (another way of spelling it) came secretly at night and performed all the work of milling the sacks of corn into flour." So based on myth, they are either helpful or mischievous.
All in all, The Puca has the power of human speech, and has been known to give advice and lead people away from harm. Though the Puca enjoys confusing and often terrifying humans, it is considered to be benevolent.
Pucca is a side character that will pop up from time to time.
