I'm fairly certain there's stories out there with the theme of strays. Had this tale start in my head and I couldn't stop once I started. I had to though to get some stuff done. I'll pick it back up once I'm done with that stuff.
I decided this would be a precursor to the chryogenesis storyline by many centuries.
I think it'll give a few spoilers to where I want that story to go though.
Sorry if the tale seems a little angsty right now, but it's supposed to be at least a little foreboding just because of how desperate one of the characters was when survival comes into play.
