In Memoriam
Dismiss, the last of my four ferrets, hung on longer than the rest, but the same cancer still took him in the end. I laid him to rest last night under the same tree as the rest of his family, Rikku Bonsai and Snowball. They were all charming, loving dookers, and Dismiss was no different. He would snug up to me, even lie down on my chest upside down for belly rubs and sleepy cuddles.
It hurts a lot. I cried most of last night.
cth,
sumanitutakanagi, and
zarr took care of me last night, which I appreciate. I do feel a little better now. At least they were happy ferrets who had a loving home, and they all certainly had better lives with me than in the shelter where I rescued them all from. But I still miss them. :(
This beautiful piece was done by
moodyferret and is a gift from
kuntos. Thank you to both of you.

First off, wow, quick work~!
Second off, rest assured; you gave them all there was to give, and no one else could have done a better job. Don't fault yourself for their poor longevity, as ferrets seem to be so prone to illness~! That, and even were they not, there was nothing you could do about it. You did much more for 'em than the average pet owner would -- I'm sure that if you spent ten-times their purchase price in medical bills, that says something! (I spent $80 on antibiotics for a $6 hamster, hah...) But tangible things aside, as they aren't what's important: even if they weren't fully aware of just how much, you loved them all to little pieces and a part of them must have known that~ You were their most important person their entire lives, and nothing will ever change that. <3
I still have those photos of him if you would like them~!

Don't forget my words last night when you told me the news Fuzzy. *big hug*
and as cheesy as it sounded, i'll repeat:
i'm positive his last dream was of him and them playing with ya much like thsi picture shows. and He was happy cuz he got you for his daddy, just like the others were. :) void that 'were' should be 'are'.
you know how to reach me for an ear if ya need it still :) and don't hesitate to take a couple days from work to grieve if you need it. workplaces do understand pet losses as much as family ones. (pets are our family to a lot of us)

Oh i'm so sorry that happened sweety. But yes, you've given them a great gift before their passing. You've given them a home and love and companionship. You were there till the end still showing what all things should see in their last moments so they can pass on happily. A terrific pic accompanying a beautiful though sad story. *hugs*
