Saw this hawk moth on a concrete pillar while at work last night. The lighting was iffy, but I took a chance that my cell phone camera might be able to pull it off.
I think he's got a few generations of breeding to do to blend in with the concrete, in my opinion.

The trick is can he survive a generation and produce offspring. Further complicated that he will be passing on his coloration, so will they make it... There needs to be that runt genetic defect that lets his offspring not have his color.
All we will see here is duplicates otherwise.
Its the genetic oddballs that move forward, to be replaced by the changes that make them have to produce oddballs.
Life continues.
