The bicycle sculpture is a new installation I spotted in my hometown's city park. I couldn't resist posing my bicycle with it.
Also an excuse to post a picture of my bicycle, Freedom. :U

Nice. I just have the stars, and the orb-ish ones. The front ones used to glow in the dark, years ago. I doubt they do anymore, though.
I have some glittery tube-shaped ones, still, but they'd really clutter up that back wheel, so in a bag they sit. They don't make much noise anywho.

Funny you mention glow-in-the-dark stuff, Kobi and I were just talking about what features would have been on the ultimate "boy's bike" circa 1992 that neither of us could have afforded back then, and glow-in-the-dark paint came up!
Other features we thought of:
-Foot pegs (because all the cool kids in California had them on their freestyle bikes)
-Asian dragons and Yin & Yang designs (because of the Ninja craze)
-Ninja star-shaped spoke clackers (see above)
-Neon-colored seat and grips (in '92 it was neon colors or GTFO).
-BMX styling including a sprung front fork and knobby tires
But the best part is if I built the bike I always wanted as a kid in an adult size, I could finally get the compliments I missed out on 20 years ago because that's exactly the sort of thing they love here in Portland.

Oh shit, you're bringing back memories. I won all my wheel decorations at summer camp events over the years.
I remember when I was a kid you were the coolest on the block if you had a bicycle with lots of gears and hand brakes, in my neighborhood at least. I had an 18-speed Huffy for many years, hoo boy.
Pft, Freedom is my ultimate bike. I love the "beach cruiser" retro style. Fenders, wheel clackers, rack, fold-out bags. People around Seattle love it. I'm always getting compliments from random people on the streets.

Very nice.
I don't invest in things (art college student = no money), I happen upon things :U This bike I found in my grandpa's shop, he'd gotten it from a neighbor. Just got a late 30's Hercules bike from my uncle too. (totally now my official first "project" )
