That is awesome. I love the way you draw. I've been trying for years to get my work to look like this style. I'm still too stiff with my art.

Well I always thought you were going for a specifically look because I like your stuff. Anyway I has some issues with stiffness too, going back 2 years my work had a stiffer more angular look like this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5564445/ soooo if I were to give advice to draw things loose it would be to draw things more lumpy (maybe not best to over do) and when things hand draw more creases in it so things look like they are bunched up.

My style just sort of happened. I tried for a while to do stuff like John K, but I always got bored of trying to make it look like that and did it my own way.

and mind the typo what I mean was "when things bend draw more creases in it so things look like they are bunched up". I think John K is the rude awakening of cartoons artists because you go in expecting something great because we loved Ren & Stimpy but then we soon find out that artists like Bob Camp and Bill Wray were and are much more talented.

Oh ya, can't go wrong with them. As for John K, ya, completely agree with you.

What do you think of Stephen Silver and Chris Sanders? I always found their stuff inspiring.

While I can't say I've gotten influence from them per say, I have however liked what I've really liked seen of their work

this means a lot to me, and I feel looking at it is giving me more confidence. They actually rang me last night and told me they got another project out of the water and they want me to start working on it in september. (a show I really like the style of) so hopefully I finally get the experience I need to finally get somewhere. the good news is he's ringing me about every project, so he obviously really wants me to work there. I also wanna start doing a business course (the neis, you should look into it) to try and start getting my freelance business running.. anyways my point is this is very good timing for this piece. I love the concept of it hahaha, I can so see her doing that "GET BACK, I has a lamp and im not afraid to swing it crazily and flick people with da power cord!!!" so very riley. ostracizing herself for no good reason. XD there's probably like one policeman after her who is like "um.. there's a lemur on the side of the building there, holding a lamp, do I need backup?"

I also love the colours and the perspective. you created a great sense of hight, and it's also very warm. :D I also love how you drew her tooth comb, and it's always just a pleasure to see her in your style. thanks so much for this paul!!

I'm really glad you like it......I was trying to do something completely unique to all my other work with the colours.....as I was nearly done with it it occurred to me "My god, these colours are really fucking 80's" but not hideously so I decided to just roll with it......I though I mentioned it was a celebratory pic, or at least I meant to......either way I'm glad you like it, I worked hard on this one. Also yes, when drawing Riley I realized I have never drawn her mouth open wide enough to see the except the hastily drawn My Little Riley pic in which I very carelessly left them out.

Ha ha, so cool. I agree with what someone said about your style; I feel like it's so hard to "loosen up" my own. Yours has much more motion to it most of the time, IMO.

I guess it's mostly how thing bunch up when they bend make them look softer

She's going Spiderman on out arse's. Also think you, I've been trying to strike a better balance between structure and cartoony pliability so I'm glad to hear it worked out.

The effort's really showing, man. It worked perfectly. I think you also did well with the bg. The building at the back added depth to your drawing, and keeping the colors uniform made Riley stand out great.

Everything about this is perfect. The personality, mood, lighting,..color-Slain, this is GOOD 80's color (there were good uses of it back then, especially first and second season of miami vice, when it was a lot more muted and 'gritty'). lt very much has that early 90's nick toon feel yet also has a look totally yours. Love this

Well I did try to pic a more vibrant colour scheme then I normally use......I guess I'm still an 80's man at heart. Also thank you very much, it's always a good thing for me to know my hard work pays off.
