I should be dead tired, in bed, and not want to look at my burner let alone touch it! But...here I am. Today was my first class with Sharon Bechtold ( http://www.sharonbechtold.com/ ) at our local carving club and it was very exciting!!
Class started at 9am and I worked last night (3rd shift) so....I have been up for 24 hours!! Wheee! And I just can't seem to stop burning. This was just pure fun. I have finally got out from under the curse of the Desert Birdfeeder I was working on for my mother in law so it just feels good to be able to do something and not feel guilty =P
Anyways, this was done on one of the small, wooden pendants I am offering as commissions. This little lovlie I think is going to be a gift to my teacher because....she is awesome =) And I greatly appreciate everything she is sharing with us and helping others learn this beautiful art form.
If you are interested in one of these see previous journal entry:

This is a wood burning: the art of applying heat/fire to wood. All the shading is the natural hue of the wood minus the aqua in her eyes and the slight bit of lipstick I gave her =P I also applied a VERY light layer of gold to the background but it is textured/shaded with the burner. Colors are watercolor pencils.
