So I've had the idea of a story (possibly comic or some mix of visual/written story) involving the development of Raen from his more innocent beginnings into his descent into cruelty and disregard for life.

While I don't want to give the story away, I did want to jot a few things down just in case I forget them later.

Raen's story is set in modern times. He's been physically detatched from his family for many years, and has grown lonely in a world much different from that which he grew up. Contact with family has dwindled and he seeks distractions to offset depression. The distraction he found was collecting lost or dropped items for the purpose of fixing/altering them for his own purposes.

His job as a courier suits him well. Agile and quick, he can transport packages in congested areas quickly while also allowing him to explore parts of the city. One of his regular stops includes an otter by the name of Carol, who holds a unique place in his heart.

Raen also comes with his gem, which you've seen in other pictures. At this point in time he has yet to encounter it.

"Really? Well let me tell you what I think"
"I know you better than you know yourself"
"And I know you'll keep this a secret. How do I know? Well let me show you."
