The Chipmunk Kingdom National Anthem
In addition to a battle hymn which
Juniper_Squirrel generously composed the melody to, I wanted to add a National Anthem to the Chipmunk Kingdom to compliment the battle hymn. I do have an older ersion of the National Anthem lyrics I posted on my FA a long time ago. However I feel its too solemn and stoic for the optimistic and uplifting atmosphere I want to portray the Chipmunk Kingdom in.
The National Anthem of the Chipmunk Kingdom
“Come all We Chipmunks”
Criteria:
The Ideal melody for these lyrics should be of a joyful welcoming nature that is easy for both congregation and the individual to perform via voice and/or instrument. So Ideally the time signature should be an easy 4/4 and the tempo a nice moderate pace. The melody should also be composed so as to be versatile and thus sounds equally stirring when performed by formally trained musicians and laymen alike. In addition the melody should also have the stateliness and uplifting qualities as any National Anthem should esp. when sung by large choirs, congregations, as well as played by symphony orchestras, and on large pipe organs.
Inspiration Hymns for the feel:
“Christ is made the Sure Foundation” for Organ.

This hymn is stately and ceremonial but still retains a friendly and welcoming feel.
1990 Crystal Cathedral Bell Tower Dedication Hymn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEsp8hOPf3w from begining to 3:14 of the video.
This hymn is very good at installing uplifting Joy yet welcomes all to sing it with its moderate tempo, 4/4 time signature and lyrics set to easy to perform melody consisting almost entirely of quarter notes.
Whoville “Welcome Christmas” song full/extended version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzZ_YlYNINI
This hymn from “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” though a bit too complex for most laymen to sing has an almost childlike sense of hope and optimism. But is backed by a strong impression of enduring Joy that cannot be crushed by those who seek to take it away.
Lyrics:
Come we chipmunks let us gather
We shall rise like morning light
Just as he who laid his life down
And revived by Father Sun.
(refrain)
Let us rise as one great nation
With this message to the world.
Join with us all Earth’s good people!
Boldy cast your votes for Day!
In the darkness of oppression
don’t despair nor lose all hope.
Lift your hearts up to our calling
freedom’s cry rings loud and clear.
Tawa’s Light that ends death’s sorrow
kendals us with fervent life.
This is what we cast our votes for
as we sing this song of cheer.
Come all tribes and territories.
Let us all rejoice as one.
In the triumph of the sun shine
Fly our banner high and proud
