One of the few insects I have a real dislike of, to be honest. I don't like things that bite me just because I taste good. It's nothing against them as bugs, I just don't like being bit. I hear these hurt like hell (deer flies are bad enough).
This one's actually kind of pretty, though. Sort of sleek and bulbous, like a Eurocopter.

I love bugs but not these. I was always taught to 'stay calm'. So when I was young I just let one of these bastards chomp away at my arm while I desperately tried to get my parents attention for help. Long story short it took them a while because they were shitty parents and I've had a fear of these ever since.
