 
                
                    Here's the second attempt at restoring a couple of 90s era small-jpeg sized webcomics to a higher resolution. ( codyvfrost's Class Menagerie)  This ended up being done the old traditional way, by substituting in a blown up print of the low-res 'original' under a sheet of tracing paper and inking over it using a selection of pigment ink fineliners. It was interesting and fun work, I've missed the smell of pigment ink, but as I mentioned before my hand cramps up if I try to do more than one panel at a time. This makes it labour intensive for me, and I end up having to do a lot of error correction on computer anyway. For instance, I had to underp Kevin's eye's in panel 3, and clean up a whole lot of smudging and slips. As you can see, I'm a big fan of giving weight to line thickness, and think this works well with

I picked up a mechanical pencil as well, to pencil in the speech baloons before inking them... Maybe I'll try a little paced out sketching of my own to ink over...
