Another gift for someone from many many years ago. This was the first time I tried something like this. I think it turned out kinda well for what it was and not knowing anything about making a knife.

I may try another one sometime soon now having more blacksmithing tools.

If I remember right the Canadian town of Yellow Knife is named after that :)

Copper and brass knives were used for early mining by blasters Yellow Knife became a town in the mid 1930s because of the gold there :) I've been up there twice for work from the states

Ohhhh, that is a interesting history. I know I've wanted to go up there since I saw the show Ice Road Truckers. It looks like a really nice area.

how effect is it? I was always under the impression that copper is a more "Weaker" metal.

Oh no I understand. It is a very soft metal and does not hold up well. It is more a ceremonial piece.

I've actually have seen them before. The thing is getting good hade to work with is not something most can afford.

my friend managed to get some good jade from British Colombia, and another friend of mine actually stole some Wyoming jade from Yosemite park. but they each only got enough to make small jewelery (ie, pendant, ring).
