The blur definitely gives it depth of field and the whimsical style works well with the Sesame Street theme. I only have three suggestions and they all have to do with anatomy, but I'll let you decide whether or not you want to hear them. I don't want to give critique and have someone tell me nobody asked for it. >.> (Happens to me a lot)
Haha, I get the cute comments too, it's the rolly polly style we use. You should try moving out of that comfort zone and try drawing something ugly. Try drawing something Silent Hill or Resident Evil ugly, but make your own character in that style, it will get you good practice with drawing outside your comfort zone. As far as this one goes, watch your characters elbow on his right, it's bending too far in the wrong direction, we should see the palm of his hand rather than the back. The palm is going to be at a harsh angle, so rough it out with boxes or circles, whichever you feel most comfortable with. Bing's tufts of fur should be going off screen, his cheek is losing dimension and coming off as if it's taped on. He should either be further to the right or just go back into photoshop, sample that color and paint over the negative space with his skin color. Watch your tangents too, Lu's left ear touches his cheek and that cross should be under the vest or open the vest further to avoid those lines being so close together. Overall, this is pretty good for being rushed, just make sure you're happy with the structure before you flesh your characters out. Anytime you have a question or just want to ask my opinion, I'd be more than happy to talk art with you, just ping me a link on my page and I'll give you feedback.
Yes, ugh, elbows are my worst enemy, second being muscles XD
Good thing I love Resident Evil and Silent Hill, I'll definitely have to give that a shot :D
yeah, Bing's face was always bothering me, I couldn't quite get it right and Lu's ears tend to never be equal, his ears shouldn't touch his cheek, yet I constantly keep making that mistake from time to time LOL
Thanks a bunch, I will certainly keep you in mind whenever I need a good critique :)

I always draw a wire frame then drop some rough shapes around it and flesh it out from there, it helps get the right angle and direction from the get-go and takes about 10 seconds. Just drop that gesture, quick and dirty, doesn't have to be pretty because you'll hide that layer when you're finished with it anyway. I did one a while back based on Jennifer's body and gave myself an elongated jaw and some shark teeth to go with it. Just think of how they push the boundaries and try your own form of that. I think that's just Bing being the sadist he is and torturing people with his crazy character's form. lol Just think of the frame before you start and you'll never have too much or too little space again. Also, pro tip: draw your characters and backgrounds on separate layers, that way, you can shrink them to fit the background easily and you can place them anywhere. Also separate your characters from each other, then you can easily pick which one is the focus. For Lu's ears, draw a straight line across once you rough out the head. It will line them up and you won't have tangents. No problem at all! I love talking art, I'm kind of a nerd for it, but somebody has to do it!
Wow, thank you! I think the reason people don't critique everything here (This is probably a completely unfair estimation) is because most likely 85-90% of everyone here are probably in it for the hobby and just draw for fun (or sculpt, make fur suits, etc.). They probably and notice I said PROBABLY (So as not to come off as making an unfounded assumption) don't take it as seriously as I do. I'm a career animator, which is why I'm attending college for the degree. I mean, I sleep, eat and draw and that's my day. Oh and shower, let's not skip that, might get a little gross in here without that, yeah. But that's my estimation and it is completely without research, I'm just taking a stab in the dark really.
hehe really? well glad I can help out. My fear as a kid was surprisingly the Excalibur song played during a Michael Jackson video collage. It was the opening to his Dangerous Music Videos Collection and I could never figure out why it freaked me out so badly LOL! To this day, my parents never let me forget it XD
