Honestly.. I'd charge even more since they are all custom. People charge $10+ for the same image with just a bunch of different patterns..
Perhaps you should do that, make 5 copies of the same thing and just paint them differently, give them different hair and stuff... And then when you come up with something original, auction it off! (Once you get popular, that is)

The thing is.. You need to do artwork for the price that your time is worth, and from the looks of it, there's a lot of time spent on these. If you get into commissions and you're getting a bunch of commissions, spending all your time on them, and then not getting the amount of money you need to make you satisfied with the time you spent, you're not going to want to do it anymore.
Time is precious, you can't get it back. I like to make sure that I make at least $15.00 an hour for my time, and I'm no where near as imaginative or talented!
