On a rainy June morning, I'm standing under the shelter of the new passenger depot in Elbe, WA, waiting for the train you see in the background. The boonie hat keeps the sun off my face, ears and neck. It does the same for rain. That camouflage Gore-Tex © jacket might make me hard to spot against all of the greenery, but it kept me dry all day. The US Army issues such great snivel gear.
I had a random passenger take the shot with my camera. He did a good job.

Both lead to excellent pics of the locomotive that took myself. The captions contain lots of fun info on the loco.

I know how that can be. Just about froze my whiskers off to get this shot: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/6550932/
I've had condensate freeze on my whiskers. The only time school was ever cancelled due to weather, in my experience, was when I was going to NIU, and the temperature was -7 with a wind chill. Out in the country, with no corn to break the wind, that's cold. The only other times my school has been cancelled were due to a water main break and a teachers' strike.
That's a great image. I was instantly reminded of those days when my Railfan friends and I would take day trips, (Or sometimes three day trips.) just to visit some railroad museum in another part of the country or wherever the adventure would take us. The trip to see the Tahachipi Loop or the Railway museum in Sacramento CA being the most memorable.
