Originally I thought that I wouldn't touch this song for ages after writing up the chorus and putting it in my scraps folder, but somehow it came to life and an earlier version was originally released for the FAMCE competition over at SheezyArt. For something that I was so unsure about it turned out surprisingly well, and even though it has a lot more of an aggressive sound than most of my other songs, I really like this one.
It's something of a revisit of the themes of Silicon Dream and Born From A Wish. The metaphor is about an area of the mind that holds every thought or fantasy that you feel guilty about and want to hide from the world. The specifics of it... you can interpret for yourself. =) It doesn't end "cleanly" as my intention is to go right into the next song from the end of this file.
The icon is from Silent Hill 5 (which, while I'm on the subject, is looking like it's going to return to what made Silent Hill work in the first place).
[Lyrics]
I know there's a place to run to
Somewhere in the earth
Far below my outside form
And hidden from the world
Every detail perfect
But I kept it all from you
And every time you hurt me
I built another room - to keep them
Thirty-two angels in my hands to guide me
Thirty-two rooms with the names carved above
Thirty-one chances to prove you're the right one
An altar of cruelty is built from my love
By my hands
I feel like I'm betraying you
With what my mind creates
But still I will retreat there
When my will begins to break
A hive of guilty pleasure
Sealed outside the world's view
And every time I looked at you
I built another room
Thirty-two angels in my hands to guide me
Thirty-two rooms with the names carved above
Thirty-one chances to prove you're the right one
An altar of cruelty is built from my love
And this temple of rust is a sign of my lust
A place for my shame and my sin
This frustration inside, the emotions I hide
They build up the world within
In the temple of rust
Beautiful corrosion
As more arrive here below
A place you wish to dream for
But can't let anyone know
Harvesting your mind maze
I'm watching what's come before
To find the perfect pieces
The elements for the whole
The key to my kingdom is kept in my hands
Protected from harm and the hate you demand
Always with me, to be lived on command
My dream ends here
With the thirty-two angels in my hands to guide me
Thirty-two rooms with the names carved above
I'll guide you through darkness and reach for the centre
An altar of cruelty is built from my love
And this temple of rust is a sign of my lust
A place for my shame and my sin
This frustration inside, the emotions I hide
They build up the world within
A heart full of anger for no one to see
It's all locked away
In the temple of rust

Great guitar sounds in there, and also some extremely nice use of chord progression to create tension (the part starting at 3.15 is particularly interesting in that regard). I'll also call this one "high speed" because of the percussion background.
Overall, this is one of your more aggressive pieces. Definitely the kind of music that gives you goosebumps.

I have to love this song, because it does the rapid-fire-chorus thing (at about 2:55) that I can never explain (there -has- to be a term for it, but damned if I know what it is) but seems to be in all the songs I really like and is an effect I specifically like in and of itself. So hmm.
Well, I'm kind of used to not knowing what the thing is called by now, I guess. I mean, all of my absolute favorite songs do it:
Luca Turilli -- Prince of the Starlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToYJ9gcMEAY at 1:41
Avantasia -- Farewell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gsEqNz0Es0 at 2:00 even
Edguy -- The Pharaoh: Perfect example at 5:03 in the song, but I can't find a video on the internet anywhere. :(
Edguy -- Tears of a Mandrake: Small examples at 1:33 and 1:57
Yet I have no idea how to explain that effect. Oh, well. Thanks for trying, anyway!

Thank you :) My music does definitely have a sort of unnatural electronic sound to it because of the way that it's written (I haven't upgraded from Modplug in eight years, but I haven't yet put the effort in to learn anything else as fully!).
And you're welcome to have a go, certainly, if you're interested! There's a tablature MIDI/GP5 version of the song here - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1402338/ - which includes the drums, though they're not an instrument that I've ever learned and so my own drum part for it may be a bit simple.

Excellent, I'm really glad you enjoyed it so much :) There's a tablature version of it somewhere in my gallery, too, though actually playing it is a bit beyond my ability at the moment.
Thanks for the watch, as well - it's always nice to exchange commentary with another musician :)

Errrr...
*lets DavidN correct him if he gets anything wrong*
"Video game" or "Amiga" music is about the instruments that DavidN uses.
"Melodic metal" is about the rhythms and chord progressions that he uses. A good example of a melodic metal band is Dream Theater: see, for example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4WEAHRLorM
