I apparently hit the jackpot of adorable baby rats this time around, because here's one of the girls (With her brother in the background).
She is absolutely adorable and super sweet already. She's an agouti patch-faced dumbo.
And she needs a name. Two others already want her, as I'm sure a lot MORE would love to have her. But she is staying with me.

A friend has been teaching me a bit about rats, colors, genetics. Last nights lesson was high whites and megacolon. Sadly my friend lost one of her babies a while back due to megacolon and we have been watching one of her new babies to make sure she doesn't have it. Shes 12weeks now and so far no signs. Shes all white with a blue cap. Her daddy was a variegated hoodie dumbo with a blaze, We didn't see her mother.
Aww. So far I haven't had any issues with megacolon..I have a BUNCH of high-white girls and have never had any issues. I had ONE issue before with a tan/fawn hooded/caped dumbo girl who developed cataracts but that was it. Nothing else out of the ordinary..I do have some giant colossal fat rats though but they're like.. 2 years old and spoiled. To the point they'll lay in your hand and stare up at you. x3
Some lines have it Ive read and some don't. I like the blazed rats alot, probably one of my favorite markings. My housemat has 5 girls and She got me into rats, I dont own any but I enjoy hers;
1st three are all close to a year and a half old.

Aww. Yeah, I have a BUNCH. I currently have 31 rat pups, 11 are two days old the rest are around a week or two. Then I have quite a few adults and lots of mice too. I have all types as well:

Aww! So cute! Reminds me almost of my niece's rat, Squeakie. He's a capped black dumbo with a small blaze. That guy is...two now? Almost three maybe? She got him when she turned 4 and she turns 6 on July 1st. He is SO FAT. And super spoiled. And he LOVES everyone. He'll sit down and just lick you to death. He is so adorable..and the awesome thing is that she entered this "pet friend photo contest" and was featured on the news while at the photo shoot. The pictures that came out are just spectacular...and you can tell that rat is spoiled. He gets free reign usually of her room..though they have to watch him now because he apparently lost movement in his back leg. They took him to a vet and stuff but couldn't find out why. No broken bones or anything..but he still gets around!
