A request from last year - Spectre and Zoey Frostpaw - a wedding gift for Zoey....Sorry it's so late...
The first drawing i did was awkward, but i kept trying to get it to work....Then i set it aside for awhile...but no ideas came to get it to work....then my computer died...Durring the months of no comp suddenly six new ideas sprang forth, this was the best.
Then a bit of refining the pencil. Most of the outline ink done in one coffee fueled night, then a few more nights....There was trepidation and surprises galore as i worked on it - i had no presentiment how the capes would be rendered, swords, etc....
This is designed to go on to colour - will get working on it as soon as Rebby's piece is finished.
For my tiny little world this is sort of a major piece, like Rebby's, trying to up the ante on myself and do better work....

Yes, 11x17 inch paper. Two tiny mistakes i'll have to white-out (a line that went through the piping on Zoey's collar, and a dot down by the outline on the lower part of your cape....Not as much whitespace above Zoey's hair on original....So it will be a matter of you getting a mat cut for it before framing....i'm not very good at cutting mats or i'd do it myself. Will note you re mailing tube and postage cost. Courier service would be safer, but they're ridiculously expensive going over Canada/States boarder....
What can i say? Spectre asked nicely. ^_^
But this is prolly last request pic for next few months or so - Combination of being short on time for my graphic novel and short on hours at day job leads to taking commissioned work only for awhile...
i still have a collaboration, some fan art, and one more request/semi commission to get to. So i'm still economically stoopid for awhile....and hope to be again as soon as possible
i wuz kinda lazy wif th armour - did joints from memory rather than looking up reference. Likewise wif feathers, didn't become a bird to grow them. i'm a lazy sod.
Seems that to colour it though i'll need to exchange my seeing-eye dog for a smelling-nose dog (so that the colouring doesn't stink....)

The graphic novel is the Emma and Ash story....sort of serious and grim...Then there's a short story, also sort of serious and grim....Then another graphic novel re Willa, Miss Billishire, and Lord Tad - a comedy sex-farce thingy.... (various pics from both in my gallery) That will cover a few years of work before getting on to the rest of stories on the back burner....i haven't decided yet if there will be dead-tree versions or just free web comix versions....i'll consult with publishers and fellow artists once it gets to that point...Have you ever thought of doing some stories?
Yup! I've had one webcomic so far (it was with a friend/associate and we ended up wanting the story to go in different directions so I let them have full control of the project/direction, taking a few characters with me I hope to continue to make use out of), I'm hoping to get another webcomic going this year (3 years in the planning stages) as a practise piece for a more ...complicated fantasy comic i wanna do once my skills are a little more polished and I've hammered out the story/sequences of events a bit better (labour of love, that one'll be..though i guess in theory they all are).
The main thing holding me back right now is I currently do not have access to a large-sized (11x17) scanner... so I'll hopefully open up for some commissions around the end of the month or so to hopefully make the money i need there... I do wanna make dead-tree versions of this webcomic (probably with bonus art and an extra story or two that won't be seen online) so i want to make sure i'm drawing within the correct page dimensions so the panels don't look all weird in print and such...i've... only been printed a few times and I've NEVER quite gotten the pages to fit the paper properly. o.<
So far i've done one test page and i thoguht i followed the guidelines on the paper correctly but the Print template a friend gave me indicates i've done a whole bunch of stuff in the bleed area which i know I'm supposed to try to avoid... agh. x.x;
I worry when the learning-via-mistakes process is potentially expensive or a hindrance to my overall goals. But if I do end up with either oddly skinny or oddly short panels on a page...i guess as long as everythign is READABLE then I'll try not to fret too much and make improvements on whatever i'm working on...because i really won't have time to go back and redo all the pages I messed up. o.<
