the standard nylon cord wrapping the grip of my 440 stainless, acid etched, 9.5in Mtech survival dagger was getting cut by the metal of the body so i replaced it with a leather cord that i wrapped entirely by hand without use of adhesives or tools
this is to showcase the work i did on the handle, not the knife

http://www.sportsmanssource.com/ser.....r-Knife/Detail - nm found it. and its a skinner knife XD
I dont know if yu would be interested, but.... If you layer one thin wrap of leather around the hilt then tight wrap the leather cord around that you would get a real smoth grip that will conform to your hand beutifuly and one 3 min soak in water would make it almost impervious to the elements. just sayin
Try this on a knife that you dont use to much, around the metal hilt, put one thin full piece of leather that covers the the hilt only, and doesnt over lap itself. So the ends touch. Then wrap the single layer of leather like you did on this knife with the leather cord, so you end up with leather cord wraped tightly over the leather piece that you put on first, tie it off like you did on this one.
