A while back I had an auction for a custom tail slot.
dark-dragoncat won that slot and this is what I made!
The tail is carved from foam. There is a delrin rod in the lower 3rd to keep the curl big and bouncy over time and another in the base to act as a shock absorber to make the tail more comfortable and as secure attachment for the two belt loops that hold the tail itself on.
This is the biggest tail I have ever made thus far. Drawing a line from the base to the outside edge of the curl, the tail is 4 feet long.
EDIT: The tail weighs just over 3 pounds. I only wore it for photos and testing but it seems reasonably comfortable. I would feel secure wearing it for long periods of time yes :)

Ho.ly. WOAH. that is just... fffff wah what a big lovely fluff that is! Amazed it's so wearable and light at that size, great job!
I've seen a few artists/suiters here and there go "don't make your tail ridiculously big, keep it proportionate to your human body!" But geeze. This must be the exception that proves that rule XD

This tail is BEAUTIFUL, I mean really, I can't stop looking at it! (I keep showing it around to my friends, haha). I don't think I've ever seen a tail this large before. I see from the comments that it's very light-weight though, that is some awesome craftmanship :) It's actually quite similar to my fursonas tail, which makes me HAVE to ask: Do you have a ball-park quote for how much a tail like this would be to commission? This is %100 for curiousity, however, I understand if you don't just give random price quotes :)
Awesome work again, though :'3
