And that folks is how Ricky became yellow. as you see he was originally white. After the fear of the movie, he turned yellow. Cowaaaaaaaaaaard *snicker*

I'd say the art style on this is pretty good. You can even tell that in the original version Croc and Des looked cute together before became an official couple. My guess on the horror movie would be Saw (any version), since that kind of movie is as freaky as $h#t.
