A lone survivor of summers gold,
His might feeble and body old,
Through treachorous tumelt he beats a path,
O'er crispy oaks whose shadows cast,
Are long and trail in weary sun,
Before frosts harsh and winters long,
Come seeping down from northern hills,
To freeze him dead in biting chills.
Essentially anthropomorphising an autumn ladybird's story into a tragedy as it traverses a dying world.
