Aaaand one more of Acelin, cuz he's been an interesting character model. I blame the hair, wings, horn, and despite my failure to draw them in shots, hooves too. This is actually a bit older and I was planning to never show it; but in my AM frustrations didn't want to leave it be after browsing through my art scraps. So I went back and colored it. Not sure what I was going for with the color honestly, but it pleases me. QwQ
~STORY BEHIND THIS~
Something I notice about a lot of stories and games out there - everybody always talks about that guy(s) that doesn't fear death, who will look it in the eye and say it, "Fuck you, I'm not backing down." And yet, all about those characters, those heroes, you have people that are constantly terrified and getting killed - either by the villains, heroes who decide to be self-righteous douchebags (you know who you/they are :V ), or at worst, the brutal, savage crossfire between those clashing forces of good and evil. It's enough to make somebody commit suicide and just get it over with. Of course they wouldn't fear death at that point. Because living SUCKS.
With that in mind, I decided to try a new angle with my characters, which is what Acelin is. Rather than my usual warriors and wanderers who go around protecting the innocent, slaying evil, saving the world through bloodshed, violence, death, gore, "epic quests", etc, etc, Mr. Winged Unicorn values life too much to be responsible for even killing those who may deserve it. He's a peacemaker, healer, guardian of nature, and one responsible for maintaining and protecting the world while the more rampant forces of BOTH good and evil wreak havoc.
In short, he's the guy who strives to do doctoring and repairs before, during, and after Godzilla vs Whatever-Monster comes through town.
Also unlike my usual characters, Acelin's nearly useless in a fight. He even fails at throwing a proper punch. At best, you can hope he trips and accidentally skewers somebody with his horn. It doesn't mean he's helpless, mind you. He's got skills and tricks to help get himself and others out of danger. Just don't rely on him when it comes to -causing- bloodshed.
...probably could've summed this all up by saying he's the medic.
