As an extra bonus this week... quite a common comment on my music here is that it "sounds like a boss music" because of the 16-bit-console-like samples that I tend to use - so here's a genuine one! This is the first attempt at a boss music for Crystal Towers 2, a side scrolling platform game that I'm writing at the moment in Multimedia Fusion 2.
I find music for games very different from writing things that are intended to be full songs - you've got to keep up a constant mood but without using too much repetition, and for fast-paced sections like this one, things have to keep moving at all times without pausing because that's (hopefully) what will be happening on the screen.
As you'd expect, I'm aiming for a very Genesis/SNES-like sound for the game - a large part of that comes from using the drums from Sonic, which really give the sound I'm going for.
You can read more about the game on its journal if you're interested, but it isn't updated very often and will likely be merged back into my own journal before too long.
The actual music is just under a minute long, looped three times in this upload.

IT files.. IT files.... That sounds oddly familliar..
What programs make it, and secondly, is that accepted by MMF? If so, I might just save up and buy it, and us that and GameMaker (Not together, just some games use GM, and others MF).
Anyway, GREAT work. I really like it, and it sounds like a mix of SNES and Genesis, with the drums and music.. Like, that tinny sound, coupled with the "clearer" sounds of Genesis. At least that is what i call it lol. Great work. Keep it up.

They were originally Impulse Tracker's native format, but I use Modplug Tracker to write them (have done for about seven years now).
MMF does have support for the MOD family of formats through the ModFusion extension, and there's another "Advanced Sound Object" on the way that will hopefully support them too.
It also supports playing them through the internal sound object, but it treats them as samples and ignores position-jumping information. Anyway, it's a great program - well worth buying :)
Thanks a lot for the comment and favourite!
