This was an idea for an attempt to merge melee with ranged in one weapon.

I'd be afraid to stab with that thing for fear of getting the blades stuck inside and leaving me weaponless. It looks a bit front-heavy to be an effective pistol, but there's nowhere to brace it! Perhaps the 'VGKA2' could incorporate a quick-release lever for the blades as well as a foregrip at the bayonet lug and a folding wire stock.
