A fun little conversion I did for my Deathwing dreadnought. not quite finished yet, but looking good.

actually, while I'm not a math-hammer guy, I did think this one through. Land raiders are actually pretty tough in the new edition.
how often do land raiders take fire?? a good portion of the time, usually by BS 3 & 4 troops or vehicles. so it usually gets hit about half the time.
How often are they shot with a weapon that will only glance it? 75% of the time for the most part - then minus half of that for attacks hitting then there's a 1 in 6 chance of getting glances. highest average dice roll is a 4. So pretty much everything that is str 8 and below (barring ap1 and melta weapons) 6 you'll be fine. one or two glances if you're unlucky and death if you let it get hit in combat with str 8 - 10 weapons. and if you let that happen then you need to look at your strategy.
penetrating weapons (str 9 and 10) are few and far between in most armies you the chances drop again for potential hits glance hits raise slightly and penetrating hits also remain low.
on average we figured out that that if a land raider takes part in a 7 turn game it will die on turn 6 or 7 at best, and will have done what ever task you had it set to do and will most likely have claimed it's points back in heavy kills.

I've no doubt it's still hardy, the ability for glancing to not damage stuff but instead just minus a hull point is neat, but I face longfang spam so much I will be whittled down by turn 3 most likely. Won't stop me from fielding it, I'll see how it goes. I'm still shaky on the new assault distances for the most part, it's either going to cripple or be a boon to my Dark Eldar friend. We'll see, I do like the Fantasy style overwatch though. <3
it's a very cunning photoshop set up. I took the photos against a sheer white background and altered the lighting a bit for the photo.
Then I took the photo in PS and removed the model from the shot and deleted the background. I dropped in a gradient background and cleaned up the edges of the model with a soft blur. done and done :) all of 5 minutes work (if that)
