What does the pedals do?

The pedals of a piano the right one sustains it the left one softens the notes the middle only sustains the notes that was played when it was pressed

actually on my keyboard I don't have a sustain pedal connected because of the fact that my dvd player, nintendo gamecube, and computer all all hooked up into one monitor. makes it near impossible to put a sustain pedal. I used the articulate tool on FL Studios this time. =P Let alone that the midi interface causes the keyboard have to be set forward a bit.

I wonder... Are you able to take a piano song and...for lack of a better term 'fiddle'...with it so that it doesn't sound too mechanical, perhaps make it sound richer? Just wondering because I'd like to get some of my compositions sort of 'retouched' to make a CD for my parents -- they've never heard any of my compositions, so I thought I'd make a CD for a gift.

Oh, and this song sounds wonderful; I love it!
