A sketch commission for
mintmonkey.
I'm not sure why, but I've always liked the idea of monkey furries. Perhaps its because you don't see them a lot. Perhaps it's because their faces blend well with human features, for obvious reasons. Perhaps it's because I was raised on Dragonball Z. Either way, when Mint commissioned me and asked to *ahem* 'use' Stank in a scene I was more than happy to accommodate.
It's probably best to not think too deeply about the double meaning to this one's title.

Then again with Dragon Ball it does have a ton of nods to the folklore of the Monkey King, if you know of the novel "Journey to the West" x3 though I'm sure you know all about that.
<o< gotta say though I did like Ninja Theory's Adaptation of it in a sci-fi setting labled "Enslaved" oddessy to the west.

I've never heard of 'Enslaved.' I do know about the monkey king legend, but the only other adaptation I can recall seeing, outside of DBZ, was in that one Jackie Chan/Jet Li movie. And it was really awful. Not that the legend itself was to blame, of course.
<w< meh y'know with expectations, remember the Expendables and how many big name actors that was in it and it fell short in greatness that the other films that made these actors popular, I mean Terminator 2, First Blood, Transporter were in my opinion the better films.
