While in the show, it's been shown that Nightmare Moon is just an extension of Princess Luna, though here, I decided that it's not so much and she was a separate entity, and that the Elements of Harmony not only separated her from Luna, but stripped her of her powers, which is why her mane and tail are like a normal ponies, and not the etheral mane and tail that she had and that season 2 Luna has.

Also, having been stripped of her powers, I could imagine a quite harsh verbal talking down by Celestia and 4 of the mane 6 (as I can't really imagine Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie giving anypony a verbal beatdown...though Fluttershy at times if really angry will).
