This was the box it was sent in.
It's in pretty good condition.
There are no major dents or any holes.
The head was in this box by itself, no coverings or space fillers/cushioning.
Customs never opened this box. There is a sheet that they stick to it and it states that this box was not opened. The paper with the mailing address on top of the box still sealed it as well.
For those wondering if customs switched boxes on me... I'm pretty sure that does not/did not happen. All original paperwork showed no signs of being removed.
The additional coverage area on the paperwork was left blank so I'm not even sure if this was actually sent with the extra insurance. My guess would be no.
I do not see how the damage could have been done while inside this box.
Some people wondered if staples from the box could have done damage, but this box has no staples and the marks are far too big to be staples. The nose is very tough. (it is resin)

I'm afraid to say, but the box has been opened, here's a link to explain why: http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums.....rarkie/box.png
1.) and 2.) I always close up all areas of the box that have 'flaps' at least one piece of tape always goes across these lines. I don't know how opened it has been but there was definitely tape in these areas.
3.) I'm not sure what happened there but it looks like the top has been pulled up like the heads been removed out one of the sides where the tape is gone? Also in the middle of #1.'s line the cardboard there isn't parallel on the top of the box to the opposite flap. I always make sure my boxes are completely squared (a bit of a perfectionist about it even)
So to me it has been tampered with. All I can think of is because it was held in customs they would have taken it out. It may have had something put on it or layed against it. The damage was not occurred Here and if you go it out of the box like that it has to have been done somewhere in between. Again, I urge you to go to your post and claim insurance. It should be covered for $700 (I have my copy of the customs slip here).

This is very VERY clearly not a during shipping kind of damage. My best guess so far would have to be you sealed the box with a rat inside it. That would be a logical explanation if there were a) a hole in the box for it's great escape/entry point or b) a carcass in the box...failing that, I'd like to hear some wild guess as to how this could have taken place during shipping?
The box appears to be mostly intact, with no obvious punctures present. Is it me alone or would common sense dictate that if something impacted the box enough to dent in the nose, it would have done a lot more than the nose, eye, and jaw for damage? Customs don't "lie" about damaging product, I happen to have a good friend who is a customs officer. If they damage something, they fess up, because 1) it's covered, and doesn't effect their pay, and 2) it's not worth losing a $55,000 /yr job over being a vindictive customs officer who randomly picks on furries.
Perhaps the biggest reason is 3) The area where parcels are inspected is usually just COVERED in cameras for exactly these reasons. There isn't really a way to lie even if you wanted to.

Doh! Lost my train of thought on that tangent. What I meant to get at was: This is not an issue that customs should/will rectify. You can try to claim insurance on it, but I'd be surprised if they went for it. This is going to have to be something you get rectified via the manufacturer/maker. Hope they're good business people who are willing to stand behind their product. Reputations are at stake when incidents like this occur. It's too small of a community for anyone to take those risks, I'm sure they'll come through and do something to compensate you.
The boxes I get generally look MUCH worse than that (think beaten-in sides) and guess what? Never had damage on any of the suits I received...and I received a lot of them. The makers and people I received them from always made sure to pack everything in plastic bags and add bubble wrap or even rolled up plastic bags.
The kind of damage on your nose? Unless there was a violent magic weasel in the box, that's not shipping damage. Oh and if Customs open the box? They'll put notes all over it. Clear bright obnoxious notes. This was just a poor product from the start and there's no excuse.
I'm sorry for all your trouble Senti :( This is disgusting.

I'd like to point out that I fully believed that not only did she play with angles as a gimmick, she photoshopped the final pictures.

If you can full view and zoom in on those pictures, she used most likely a smudge or blur tool. It looks like she smudged the nose and blurred some parts of the fur.
She's a digital artist, so of course she knows some tricks.
I haven't seen anyone say anything about this, but they probably have.. I think she shaves the face too close to the base of the fabric.
I don't need to point out the rest of the issues that has been said a million times.

"Commissions are currently closed and unfortunately won't be opening again. If you like my work I'll probably be making some pre-made suits in the future and auctioning them off through my Rarakie page, so keep an eye out on that account. Thanks :)"
I think it's a little immature to quit her fursuit business as a whole, but maybe it's for the best. If she can improve her work, fix her mistakes, and asmit that she was in the wrong, I doubt anyone would have a problem if she re-opened again.
