hehe I'm glad paul is taking this all in his stride. i think he's finding it amusing that gem is drunk. He's certainly seeing a new side to her that he's not seen in the office before.
The very first time I got drunk I ended up in a swing park with my friends. i decided to try and cram myself into the baby swing, which i managed and then got stuck LOL. Spent the next 20-30 minutes trying to get back out again, progressively getting more paniciky that we were gonna hafta call the fire brigade out to cut me out of the blasted thing. Eventually with a lot of struggling and absolutely no help from any of my friends who were too busy kililng themselves laughing at me, I managed to get free. I then climbed up a slide the wrong way (rather than going up the ladder I went up the actual slide part...or tried to...I slipped and broke my nose LOL. So yep that was my first endevour getting drunk. Do not drink several wine measures of aftershock, it's really not a clever thing to do. Lets hope Gem's isn't quite as eventful.

To be fair, even if they were older they probably wouldn't have stopped you.
It's sort of like a tradition to see how blitzed you can get your friend on their first legal birthday.
The party usually doesn't end until the birthday boy/girl is crying on the bathroom floor.

You don't get the "drink till you puke" birthday experience unless you go bar-hopping.
Sometimes it's not even your friends that want to see you stumble around, puking.
Strangers at the bar will sometimes hook it up with some cheap beer.
$2 for a PBR special is worth it to see some 21 year old get totally, irresponsibly, shit-faced

*giggles* not everyone will have THAT experience. I was stupid cause I didnt know my limits and got really rather very very drunk but being tipsy is pretty harmless and quite fun most of the time. it depends on what effect alcohol has on you really. I used to know a girl who would get really depressed when she drank so she would always end up a sobbing wreck every friday night and it confused me why..if thats how alcohol affected her...why did she do it?
I can actually think of a reason why. Sometimes it's hard for people to let out their emotions in any other way...Maybe getting drunk and depressed was her way of releasing stress? idk x3 I don't drink and I don't plan on having anything more than a fruity drink on my 21st, which is in 2 weeks. xD

also i'm 23 too but i hardly ever drink anything if a places happens to have a "house specialty" drink.... i might order it i've had a strawberry daquiri and sometimes i'll order a shot of tanquery gin and i'll sip it only after i've eaten at least half of my appetizer. ^_^

though im curious as hell how she hasnt made crinkles from under her skirt, or mabey hes deaf i do hear that being around loud music alot can hinder your hearing abit since his friends are in a band and such, but.. oh im just over thinking it she is bound to get busted in 3...2.. or mabey not who knows xP
