Hay, I forgot to tell all ya, a few days ago, I finally got myself a new laptop computer, or as I like to call it, my new sexy! XD
It’s a Toshiba Satellite. It has an i5 core processor, a giant 750 GB HDD, 8 GB memory, and it is ginormous! I was trying to get a new laptop about the same size as my old one, and for some reason thought my old laptop had a 17 inch screen, and so I got one with a 17.3 inch widescreen. I was surprised to find it was like 2 inches bigger then my old laptop! Although that was quite a pleasant surprise (even if I wound up having to buy a new, bigger laptop briefcase to accomidate it XD)
It also has some extra gadgets and features that I’ve never had before, or seen! Like the backlit keyboard! Evidently it has skype installed on it, with a built in web cam and mic for it, though I don’t think I’m yet comfortable showing my face online, especially with live video!
I still need to learn and become accustomed to using Windows 7, since I’ve used Windows XP for the last, like 12 years? But once I get a hang of it, and get all my programs and files set up, I’ll be computing like a bawss! (oh, and I need to get a new internet router, but that will have to wait for now. I still need to pay for this laptop!)
And, because I know my luck with computers, I got myself an extended 2 year warrantee, just to be safe. ;) Though I’m hoping that I won’t have to use it.
Anyway, I am quite happy at the moment! I gots a new, shiny, sexy lappy! ^W^
There is just one thing. I found that my media player can’t play FLV videos. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good multi-media player, or perhaps a good video converter? I tried one converter that was already on my old laptop, and it butchered the video, making it fuzzy and sound terrible. I just want to prevent installing a bunch of programs that I don’t need on my new computer. So if you can recommend a good program, I’d appreciate it!
Oh, and if you were wondering, the laptop in the picture is an actual photo I took of my lappy! Isn’t it pretty? ^w^
