I think whiskey flys a light sport aircraft (don't remember which model in particular) but I know some light sports have mph airspeed indicators. Either that or it's a kit plane and he just chose to install a mph based indicator. That, and I'm kinda curious to the FAA's stance on using smart phones as aux navigational equipment now thanks to their gps and many apps that utilize it

Right, I would assume that since phones are not necessarily 100% accurate or reliable that they would be considered navigational aids rather than flight instruments :P but otherwise, that sounds rlly cool. Cheap and easy way to upgrade an old cockpit without spending lots of cash
