About 18 years ago. She and thorn were on q mission together. They infiltrated the base of there Target only to fall into a trap. The base was going to self destruct and as the 2 were escaping, Nyx got her leg caught in the automatic doors that were closing all around them. She told thorn to leave, but he refused to leave her side. It was clear that in this mission they had fallen in love. Just then she ordered thorn to sever her leg so they could escape. He did and she and he was saved, but at a major cost. Thorn felt so bad for what he did to Nyx, that he vowed to never let any harm come to her again, then as he was about to propose to her, he gave her a new cybernectic leg for her to stand on so he could kneel in front of her and pop the question.
